The Health System Strengthen in Northern Syria (R4HSSS) project is an embedded operational research project that studies the experience of health systems in Syria. The project is co-led by the Conflict and Health Research Group at King’s College London and the Union of Medical and Relief Organisations (UOSSM). The overall aim of the project is to produce a model on health system strengthening in conflict settings that can be applied to other contexts affected by long-term and complex conflicts. The project does this by investigating four elements of health system adaptation and strengthening; provision of health services, health education and medical training, health governance and financing, and the use of digital solutions in health information system to inform future post conflict systems strengthening.
