(Arabic translation follows)

Syrian Board of Medical Specialties (SBOMS) completed a 2-day Basic Advanced Life Support course attended by 26 resident doctors in Pediatrics.

The goal of Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is to save a life.

For a child or infant experiencing serious injury or illness, your action can be the difference between life and death. PALS is a series of protocols to guide responses to life-threatening clinical events.

These responses are designed to be simple enough to be committed to memory and recalled under moments of stress.

PALS guidelines have been developed from a thorough review of available protocols, patient case studies, and clinical research; and they reflect the consensus opinion of experts in the field.

It should be noted that the Division of Training and Continuing Medical Education carried out a study for the needs of  the most important training of resident doctors. According to the results, plans have been drawn up for the completion of a series of courses, including all residents in training in all specialties among the activities of the R4HSSS project to discuss the support of the health system in  Syria.
